After more than 35 years of operation, TBI is closing its doors and our website will no longer be updated daily. Thank you for all of your support.
#6: Trooper (CBS)
The US networks are deep into development season and have spent the past few weeks frantically ordering pilots ahead of this year’s Upfronts and LA Screenings. TBI takes a look at some of the most interesting projects that are up for consideration.
#6: Trooper (CBS)
Trooper marks the return of Jerry Bruckheimer to network television. The CSI and Pirates of the Caribbean producer sat out last year’s pilot season, marking the first time his company didn’t produce a pilot for ten years.
However, this year, Bruckheimer, through his Jerry Bruckheimer Television banner, has a number of series in contention including a Navy Seals drama with ABC and a wrestling series at NBC.
Trooper, though, is classic Bruckheimer. The show is a procedural that follows the adventures of a mother turned state trooper, a concept that doesn’t sound a million miles away from his last network drama Chase.
The series is being written by Heroes and The River producer Aron Eli Coleite and is being produced in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Chances: Solid; network presidents love to be in business with Bruckheimer.
