Spanish Sopranos sold to States, Lat Am
A series dubbed the Spanish Sopranos has been sold into the States and HBO Latin America has picked it up after distributor Film Factory closed a number of deals.
Crematorium is an eight-part series produced by Mod Producciones for Canal+ Spain.
Vicente Canales, founder of Film Factory Entertainment, told TBI that the series has been bought by global networks including HBO Latin America, Turner in Scandinavia and in the United States with Spanish language-network Somos TV.
“We’re also in advanced conversations for Germany, Italy and France,” he added.
The series tells the story of the Bertomeus family, which is the wealthiest and most powerful family in Misent, before Ruben Bertomeu runs into trouble.
“It’s very similar to HBO series like The Sopranos so for me that’s very important internationally,” added Canales.
