ITV Studios America strikes first look deal with Kowalski
ITV Studios America has struck a first look development deal with British independent producer Kowalski.
The US arm of the British commercial broadcaster signed the deal with Kowalski chief executive Simon Howley, who previously worked at Shine-owned producer Firefly/Dragonfly where he produced non-fiction series including Discovery’s Life or Death and Nat Geo’s Pirate Gold.
Kowalski, which is based in Glasgow and London, has produced BBC One’s Make Me An MP and is in development with series including Guns & Tusks, War Inc and The Dare Devil Gene. It is also working with a number of US broadcasters including National Geographic, Spike, Lifetime, Sundance, ABC and A&E.
The deal was announced by Bruce Robertson, senior vice president, creative Strategy, ITV Studios America.
“Simon has a great track record of creating and producing programming embraced by both UK and US broadcasters. His success as a non-scripted producer will be invaluable to ITV Studios America’s development as we continue to expand our company,” Robertson said.
