NATPE News: CCTV, Cisneros strike doc deal

Chinese broadcaster CCTV and Venevision International have struck a wide-ranging documentary deal at NATPE.

The deal, which was announced on the first day of the event in Miami, will see Cisneros Group-owned Venevision launch a pan regional documentary channel to air CCTV-produced documentaries.

Separately, the Chinese public broadcaster has acquired a raft of factual programming and will launch a Latin programming block on its CCTV Documentary Channel.

The deal was struck by Miguel Dvorak, president and COO of the Cisneros Group and Li Jian, President of China International TV Corporation.
