Electric Sky sells Olympic docs
A raft of European broadcasters have acquired documentaries on this year’s Olympic Games after striking deals with distributor Electric Sky.
Germany’s n-tv and Russia’s Telekanal 24 Doc have picked up Darlow Smithson-produced one-off doc Going for Green: Britain’s 2012 Dream, while Belgian public broadcaster VRT has bought ITN Productions’ hour-long doc Game Changer: London 2012.
The Olympic Games 2012 are expected to be one of the most significant television events of the year with many international broadcasters stocking up on programming to air around live sporting events.
Separately, Electric Sky has sold a package of series including The Gucci’s: The Last Fashion Victim, Alvin’s Guide to Good Business, Dream Lives for Sale and Racing Green to Argentinean broadcaster HSM.
Croatian broadcaster HRT has also acquired 65 hours of programming from the British distributor including Glamour Puds and A Place in the Sun: Home & Away.
