Shine hires Camilla Hammer as international boss
Shine has hired Camilla Hammer as its new international boss. She joins from Modern Times Group (MTG). The News Corp-backed producer and distributor has been looking for a new boss since the departure of Chris Grant was announced in May.
Hammer was senior VP, acquisitions at MTG and spent twelve years at the Scandinavia-focused free and pay TV operator. At Shine she will be based in London after the company relocated its activities there from LA earlier this year. She will report to Shine Group president Alex Mahon and starts in her new role early next year.
Mahon said: “Camilla’s experience is extensive and spans many territories. She will bring to the role knowledge and multiple perspectives from all aspects of content acquisition and distribution, skills which will enable her to both complement and lead the Shine International team.”
Hammer’s is the latest appointment in a reconfigured Shine International. Recent appointments include former MTV executive Matthew Ashcroft joining as the company’s first senior VP, Asia Pacific; former ITV Global executive Noel Hedges joining senior VP, acquisitions and Jan Rowland becoming head of business and legal affairs.
Hammer’s predecessor, Grant, meanwhile, resurfaced at Ben Silverman’s Electus in September.
