Scripps ups Jim Samples to international boss as Greg Moyer leaves
Scripps Networks Interactive has named Jim Samples as president of its international business, replacing Greg Moyer.
Bob Baskerville is upped to COO, international, in the management shake-up at the US-based channel operator, which is the co-owner of UKTV and operates international channels including Food Network.
Samples succeeds Greg Moyer, who spearheaded SNI’s international channel launches including Food Network UK and Food Network Asia. Moyer will still consult to SNI.
Formerly president of Scripps’ home-based network HGTV, Samples will oversee the company’s international programming portfolio, including Food Network. He will report to Joseph NeCastro, chief financial and administrative officer.
Bob Baskerville, previously general manager, has been named chief operating officer, international. He will oversee all day-to-day operations of Scripps’ international businesses.
“International development is an important component of Scripps Networks Interactive’s long-term growth strategy,” NeCastro said. “With Jim Samples and Bob Baskerville at the helm, we have the right combination of creative and disciplined leadership needed to move our international ambitions forward. Together, they will be exploring new partnerships, broadening our global distribution footprint and developing our digital content strategy as we strive to serve international media across the globe.”
