Sky Living acquires Sony’s Unforgettable

UK pay broadcaster Sky Living has acquired US cop drama Unforgettable after striking a deal with Sony Pictures Television.

This is the network’s latest high-profile US drama pick up following its acquisition of Sarah Michelle Gellar-fronted drama Ringer and Kevin Williamson-penned supernatural drama The Secret Circle.

Unforgettable, which is produced and distributed by Sony, airs on US network CBS and has been one of the surprise hits of this season; it was recently picked up for a second season.

The show stars Without A Trace’s Poppy Montgomery as a former detective with a medical condition that means she can remember every single moment of her life. She is subsequently asked by her former boyfriend, played by Nip/Tuck’s Dylan Walsh, to join his New York homicide unit.

The deal for the 20x1hr series was negotiated by BSkyB’s acquisition manager Lucy Criddle and Sony’s SVP, distribution, UK, Ireland and Africa Kylie Munnich.
