FremantleMedia shopping Bindi Irwin gameshow internationally
FremantleMedia Enterprises is selling a new gameshow fronted by the late Steve Irwin’s daughter Bindi. It will handle international sales of Bindi’s Bootcamp, a 26x25mins adventure gameshow for Australian public broadcaster the ABC’s digital kids channel ABC3.
The series is about to go into production and will be produced by FremantleMedia Australia and Sticky Pictures.
It will be shot at Australia Zoo in Queensland, which was founded by the Irwin family. In each episode three teams will face off over three rounds of challenges based on inner strength, knowledge and endurance getting up close with various wild animals along the way. The highest scoring teams across the series will then reassemble for the season finals where one team will ultimately be crowned ‘Wildlife Warriors’.
Sander Schwartz, president, kids & family entertainment, FME, said: “The Irwins have dedicated their lives to protecting endangered species and supporting wildlife and nature conservation, an ethos that forms the basis for all the fun, adventure and mayhem that will be a part of this show. We believe there is growing demand for original live-action kids’ entertainment series, and Bindi’s Bootcamp is a fantastic addition to that genre.”
Bindi has previously fronted Bindi: The Jungle Girl, which the commercial arm of Australian public broadcaster ABC sold to a raft of international broadcasters including Canal+ (Poland), MTV (Finland) and MBC (Middle East).
