eOne to distribute Saving Hope internationally
International producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has taken the global rights to Canadian drama series Saving Hope.
The company, which produces series including Rookie Blue, The Firm and Hell on Wheels, has also come on board as the production studio for the hospital drama.
CTV recently ordered 12 episodes of the show following a pilot earlier this summer. The show, which stars Stargate Atlantis’ Michael Shanks as chief of surgery who ends up in a coma and Smallville’s Erica Durance as his fiancée and fellow surgeon. Saving Hope is written by Rookie Blue writers Ilana Frank and David Wellington.
eOne will be pitching the series to US broadcasters and cable networks in Los Angeles next week.
