Discovery ups Doug Baker and John Honeycutt
Discovery Networks International has promoted two of its key executives, Doug Baker and John Honeycutt.
Baker becomes executive VP and CFO and Honeycutt executive VP and COO. The COO role at DNI was last filled by Sahar Elhabashi and her departure was announced last March.
Baker will assume responsibility for leading all financial aspects of DNI, including oversight of regional CFOs in western Europe, CEEMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific. He has most recently has been asked to lead the division’s efforts in growing cross-regional international ad sales.
Honeycutt will work with DNI boss Mark Hollinger and the four regional presidents and managing directors to formulate business strategies across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America. He will also oversee DNI’s digital media business.
Separately, Discovery Networks central and eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa has promoted Dorota Zurkowska-Bytner to vice president, ad sales development, giving her responsibility for Discovery’s advertising business across 105 markets in the region.
She will be replaced as country manager for discovery networks in central Europe by Olgierd Dobrzyñski who joins from Polish broadcaster TVN.
