Electus will hit acquisition trail following Grant’s appointment
Chris Grant has been appointed CEO of IAC-backed media firm Electus.
Grant, who’s exit as president of Shine’s distribution division, Shine International, was announced in May, following a management restructure after the company’s acquisition by News Corp., immediately said that he will be seeking to add new companies to the Electus group when he joins in November.
“Once I join Electus, I expect to collaborate with Ben and [COO] Drew [Buckley] to aggressively seek out and acquire US and UK companies who can create international productions that live and thrive on a variety of platforms and that can leverage Electus’ distribution model,” he said.
Grant’s new role is effective November 1. Electus, which was formed in 2009, said he will oversee its next phase of growth and its ‘domestic television agenda’. He will report directly to Silverman who will continue to oversee the running of the company. Grant previously worked under Silverman at Reveille, which later became Shine International.
“Watching Chris Grant grow into the finest and most sought after executive television has seen in a long time has brought me tremendous joy and pride,” Silverman said. “He was an amazing partner at Reveille, and will be an amazing leader for Electus. He is a fantastic collaborator and entrepreneur with management skills and great passion.”
