ABC Studios’ Missing to premiere at MIPCOM
ABC Studios’ forthcoming drama Missing, starring Ashley Judd, is set to get its world premiere at MIPCOM.
Missing will launch on Monday 3 October ahead of its US debut as part of MIPCOM’s 2011 World Premiere Television Screenings and will be followed by a Q&A with the stars of the show and production team.
The show, which was created by National Treasure script writer Greg Poirier and produced by The Gates producers Gina Matthews, Grant Scharbo and Steve Shill, was originally planned for a summer launch but will now launch on US network ABC as a midseason series.
The story follows a worried mother and former CIA agent, played by Double Jeopardy‘s Judd, who travels to Europe to track down her son who goes missing during a summer intership.
It was produced across Europe in Prague, Istanbul and Dubrovnik.
“We’re very proud of this edge of your seat thriller and the great storytelling that spans continents. We hope that Missing is the first of what will be many truly global productions to come out of ABC Studios. We’re pleased that the MIPCOM audience will be the first to see what we think is spectacular event television,” says Paul Lee, president, ABC Entertainment Group.
