Warner and MGM launch Canadian movie nets
Hollywood studios Warner Bros and MGM are launching movie channels in Canada as part of the launch of new company Hollywood Suite.
The two companies will launch their channels as part of Hollywood Suite, a new company set up by former Chum executive Jay Switzer.
Hollywood Suite will launch four new high definition movie networks across Canada in November.
The bouquet includes Warner Films, The MGM Channel, action movie channel Hollywood Storm and independent movie network Hollywood Festival. The channels will be available across cable, satellite and IPTV platforms.
The deal was announced by Jeffrey Schlesinger, president, Warner Bros. International Television, Bruce Tuchman, president, MGM Worldwide Networks and Hollywood Suite chairman and co-founder Switzer.
“These channels are designed to meet the strong audience demand for movies across all platforms and support Canada’s television service providers,” said Switzer.
