Former Zodiak exec Matthieu Porte launches Can’t Stop Media with Gaga doc
Former Zodiak exec Matthieu Porte’s new company Can’t Stop Media has acquired the rights to a Lady Gaga documentary and has closed a number of international sales.
Zodiak’s former SVP, entertainment Porte, who left the company at the end of last year, is shopping Gaga by Gaultier, a one-off documentary produced by Dak Tirak for French broadcaster TF6. The documentary has already been sold in Australia, Belgium and Brazil and Porte told TBIvision that a US deal is near.
“It will be sold in the US and we have offers from various broadcasters,” he added.
Can’t Stop Media, which is heading to the Discop market in Budapest next week, already has a library of 20 titles including reality format Angels of Reality and Eastern European comedy Alaminut. Porte is hoping to bolster the catalogue further in the coming weeks.
“I’ve got all genres, I have no specialisation,” he says. “I am looking for producers that are interested in working with someone with the contacts of a big group but without the problems of the bigger groups such as decisions can’t be taken that fast and there are political strategies.”
Can’t Stop Media is headquartered in London and Porte has also hired former Fox Look and Ampersand executive (and cousin) Damien Porte.
