Channel 4 renews Big Fat Gypsy Weddings
British broadcaster Channel 4 has renewed hit reality series Big Fat Gypsy Weddings for a second season.
The series was one of Channel 4’s biggest ever factual series with an average 9.1 million viewers and has been renewed for six new episodes.
Firecracker Films, which produces the series, is in the early stages of production for a 2012 launch.
This comes after US cable network TLC announced the launch of a US version of the format.
Channel 4, meanwhile, has also picked up 6x1hour cooking series Jamie’s Great Britain. The latest show featuring the British celebrity chef, which is produced by Oliver’s Fresh One Productions, will follow him across the country exploring quintessentially British dishes. The show will launch later this year.
