ABC sells Wikileaks around the world
ABC Commercial, the international sales arm of the Australian public broadcaster, has sold its Wikileaks: The Forgotten Man documentary to a raft of international broadcasters ahead of MIP TV.
The company has sold the 45minute documentary to seven broadcasters across Europe, Latin America and Asia including DirecTV Latin America, CBC (Canada), VRT (Belgium), TVN (Poland), MTV3 (Finland), RTP (Portugal), Media Content Store (Korea) and Societe Radio Canada.
The documentary, which is produced by Australian indie, tells the story of Private Bradley Manning and his role in the Wikileaks story. It features the only recording of Manning’s voice and conversations with Adrian Lamo, the man who betrayed him.
“The strong pre-MIP sales are testament to the quality of investigative journalism demonstrated in Four Corners’ Wikileaks: The Forgotten Man is heading towards being one of our top selling current affairs titles,” said Scott Kimpton, sales executive for news and current affairs, ABC Commercial.
