Discovery preps Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster special
Discovery Channel is filming a one-hour special on the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Anatomy of a Disaster will air early next month in the US on Discovery Channel and Science Channel before rolling out internationally.
The show follows the natural disaster, which started with the huge 9.0 magnitude earthquake last week. Discovery said it will provide a 360-degree view of the historic global events as they unfold across the planet, from the initial rumblings in the Pacific to the worldwide response effort. Discovery added that the film will provide a complete profile of nature’s destructive power and mankind’s ability to adapt and survive.
“Anatomy of a Disaster will offer a one-of-a-kind look into today’s epic natural tragedy and depict a race against time, from the first wave to hit Sendai, to acts of incredible heroism,” said Luis Silberwasser, Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer, DNI.
