Disney sells Oscars across Asia
Disney’s international distribution arm has sold the television rights to the 83rd Academy Awards to 28 countries across Asia Pacific.
The Oscars is held on Sunday 27th February and is hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
Disney Media Distribution has closed deals with Nine Network (Australia), CCTV6 (China), TVB (Hong Kong), ABS-CBN (Philippines), Fiji TV, Fox International Channels in India, South East Asia and Taiwan, Sky (New Zealand), Mediacorp (Singapore), Hanoi TV (Vietnam) and True Visions (Thailand).
Disney, which distributes on behalf of the Academy, has distributed the awards since 1999 and has sold it to over 209 territories.
