Big Brother back in Sweden
Swedish broadcaster TV4 is to bring back reality format Big Brother after a five year hiatus. This comes as producer and distributor Endemol poaches a key Zodiak executive to run the show.
Big Brother previously aired in Sweden on Kanal 5 between 2000 and 2006.
TV4 will relaunch the series next year produced by Endemol Sweden, which has hired Robert Jonsson as creative director. Jonsson, who will be an executive producer on the show, was previously running Zodiak’s creative development division in London for the last three years.
This is the first significant deal for recently launched pan regional production division Endemol Nordic.
Separately, Endemol Nordic has also hired Rikke Nissen, formerly executive producer at Nordisk Film TV as managing director, Endemol Denmark. Nissen previously produced series including TV3 Denmark’s popular soap 2900 Happiness and Endemol’s format Wipeout.
