Game Show Network strikes format deal with IBC
US cable broadcaster Game Show Network (GSN) is to launch its formats internationally for the first time after striking a deal with distributor International Broadcast Communications (IBC).
IBC, which is run by former HBO and E! Entertainment exec John Helmrich, will launch a raft of formats at MIPCOM including Late Night Liars, Catch 21, High Stakes Poker, Cram, Friend or Foe, Inquizition, Burt Luddin’s Love Buffet and National Lampoon’s Funny Money.
Late Night Liars is a late night comedy gameshow produced by The Jim Henson Company’s Henson Alternative and stars 10 Things I Hate About You’s Larry Miller with five outrageous Avenue Q-esque puppets, while Catch 21 is a pop trivia quiz meets card game fronted by Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s Alfonso Ribeiro.
The Game Show Network, which is owned by DirecTV and Sony Pictures Entertainment, airs across the US, Caribbean and Canada.
