Dexter sells her slice of Cake
Genevieve Dexter has left kids producer and distributor Cake Entertainment ahead of the crucial MIPJunior kids programming market next month.
Cake refused to answer any questions about Dexter’s departure from the company at which she was commercial director.
A note on her Twitter feed, posted in August, alludes to selling shares for £1 million, but the financial details of her offloading her stake in the company to co-director Tom van Waveren are not known.
Before Cake, Dexter worked in sales, acquisition and coproduction roles at RTV Family, Link Entertainment and Eva Entertainment.
A statement said the directors of Cake have decided to go their separate ways.
Ed Galton will remain in charge of distribution under the new structure.
“Genevieve’s contribution to the success of Cake has obviously been considerable and I am grateful that she is entrusting the company to Ed Galton and myself going forward,” said Tom van Waveren.
