Rogers to launch new Prom Queen via iPad
Canadian broadcaster Rogers Media is to launch Vuguru-produced web series Prom Queen: The Homecoming later this month via the Apple iPad and iPhone.
The 22-episode series, which is a follow up to the Big Fantastic-created hit teen digital series Prom Queen and Prom Queen: Summer Heat, will launch as part of Rogers Shorts in the City initiative, which will be available to stream on the iPad and iPhone as well as a number of associated websites.
“Prom Queen 3 is filled with drama and excitement; each episode will keep audiences coming back for more. It’s part of our on-going commitment to bring Canadians high quality, well produced, online shows,” says Claude Galipeau, senior VP and general manager, digital media, Rogers Media.
Rogers Media acquired a stake in Vuguru, the digital production company run by former Disney boss Michael Eisner, last year, which also gives it Canadian rights to Vuguru series. The company is expected to launch additional shows in August and later this fall.
