FremantleMedia inks first kids deal

FremantleMedia Enterprises has struck a deal with Japanese animation producer Dentsu and toy manufacturer Jakks Pacific to distribute boys action series Monsuno, marking its first move into kids programming.

FremantleMedia Enterprises launched its children and family entertainment division at MIPCOM last year with the hire of former Warner Bros animation president Sander Schwartz.

The company will sell the series internationally and will be the master licensing agent in all territories outside of Asia.

Dentsu Entertainment and Jakks launched a joint venture to develop the animated series, which was created in association with studio Man of Action, the company behind the Ben 10 franchise.

The 52x30mins series is a boys action adventure series that follows a group of kids with superpowers, defending the earth from evil monsters.
