Zone Horror rebrands as Horror Channel, strikes Revolver deal
UK pay TV channel Zone Horror is rebranding as the Horror Channel next month.
It has also struck a volume movie deal with independent film distributor Revolver Entertainment.
The broadcaster will air movies including Diagnosis Death, Red Mist, The Grave Dancers, Mega Snake and The Ferryman as part of the deal.
As part of the rebrand the channel is also running a number of themed programming slots including a Vampire Week with the launch of movies including Slayer and Thirst as well as Blade: The Series and a Stephen King month that will see it air The Shining TV mini-series and movies including Tommyknockers and Salem’s Lot.
Meanwhile, the channel, which is a joint venture between Chello Zone and CBS Studios International and is available across satellite pay TV service Sky and cabler Virgin Media, has hired Paul McEvoy to join its programming team. McEvoy is the cofounder of London horror film festival FrightFest.
