Fox to launch Banijay dating prank format

US network Fox is to launch a reality prank series based on a French format after striking a deal with distributor Banijay Entertainment.

The broadcaster is set to pick up My Parents Are Going To Love You, which is based on JES Productions’ format Mes Parents Vont T’Adorer, which aired on digital net NRJ12.

The deal will be the first deal to come out of Banijay’s recently launched US production company Angel City Factory, which it set up with Temptation Island producers Chris Cowan and Jean-Michel Michenaud at the end of last year.

The reality series sees contestants try to trick their parents into believing that they are recently engaged to a celebrity.
