Natpe News: Nat Geo orders more Dog Whisperer

National Geographic Channel in the US has ordered a new season of Dog Whisperer and the show’s distributor, Rive Gauche, has inked a raft of new sales for the series.

The latest 13-episode run is in production and, following the success of two recent instalments of the series set in Australia, producers are planning to film two more specials, this time in the UK.

The Australian specials, Dog Whisperer Down Under, performed well on Nat Geo US and UK and Foxtel’s Bio channel in Australia.

The show, which is produced by MPH Entertainment and features dog trainer and motivational speaker Cesar Milan, will stretch to 142 episodes when the new season wraps.

Rive Gauche senior VP of international sales Dorothy Crompton told TBIvision that in the week prior to NATPE it sold three seasons of the series to Fox Japan and to Channel 10 Uruguay. TVN Chile and TV4 Sweden also picked up a season apiece.
