Knightscove acquires Ellis Entertainment

Canadian film and TV movie distributor Knightscove Media has acquired TV producer and distributor Ellis Entertainment.

The company has paid US$2.7 million for Ellis Entertainment, which is run by Stepehen Ellis out of Toronto.

Knightscove Media distributes TV movies including Whoopi Goldberg-fronted Blizzard and Kart Racer starring Randy Quaid as well as series including Porchlight Entertainment-produced kids series Jay Jay The Jet Plane.

It has acquired Ellis, which distributes over 600 hours of titles, mainly factual entertainment series and family dramas. Ellis internationally distributes series including 6x1hour Decoding Christianity  and 98x30mins Planet Parent. The company also produces around 20 hours per year including Ancient Chinese Secret? and Tank Overhaul III.
