Nordisk inks Who’s the Best? format deals across Europe
Nordisk Film TV World has sold its talent show format Who’s the Best? across Europe and in the Middle East. Nordisk, now part of French media group Banijay, has sealed new deals for the series in Italy, Dubai and Germany and a Spanish deal is understood to be close.
The show is billed as a ‘talent show season wrapped into one 90/120 minute episode’. The shiny floor format was created by French producer Coyoté. Contestants compete in a set of five duels, judged by a celebrity panel, to find who is the best in various categories.
It is already on air on TF1 in France and has just bowed on Portuguese free-to-air broadcaster TVI. TF1 has just recommissioned the series for its autumn/winter 09/10 season.
In Italy Endemol has picked up the rights to make a local version of the show. In the Middle East, Dubai TV has taken the rights and in Germany Brainpool, part of the Banijay group, has picked up the show.
