Ricky Martin’s RM 5to Elemento to launch Lat Am Fort Boyard

RM 5to Elemento, the Latin American production company set up by The Ricky Martin Entertainment Group and European producer and distributor Zodiak Entertainment, is set to reversion a raft of Zodiak shows for Lat Am broadcasters and hopes to have a couple of series on air by late spring 2010.

The company, which was launched in October, has identified 20 Zodiak Entertainment formats including reality series Fort Boyard and music format Twist and Shout that it would like to sell into the region.

Bruno Del Granado, chief executive of the company and Ricky Martin’s manager, told TBIvision: “We’re looking to take the most successful Zodiak shows such as Fort Boyard and Twist and Shout and pitch them in Latin America.”

Del Granado added that it had been keen to move into television production for a while and that it made sense to partner with a European company with a decent library of programming. “I looked at Zodiak’s library and was intrigued because you need a successful library to build a successful production company. It’s important to go in with a proven, established partner.”
