Love is not enough for CBS
E1 Entertainment has started production on a TV movie for CBS starring Winona Ryder as Lois Wilson, the cofounder of support group Al-Anon and wife of Bill Wilson the cofounder of Alcoholics Anonymous.
E1 will handle international sales of the movie, When Love is not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story, which is being shot in Toronto, Canada. The show is an E1 production in association with Hallmark Hall of Fame Productions.
Set in post-World War One America, it recounts the story of Wilson, an occupational therapist struggling to deal with her husband’s alcoholism and ultimately founding Al-Anon.
E1 recently handled distribution of another TV movie that aired on CBS, The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler, about a catholic social worker in World War Two Warsaw. It also makes Canadian-produced cop series The Bridge for the US network.
This story has been corrected. The project is produced in association with Hallmark, not as a coproduction as originally reported.
