Turner announces Arnesen’s acting replacement
Cartoon Network has replaced its recently departed European chief Finn Arnesen with former Turner exec Tina McCann stepping in as acting boss.
McCann will become acting chief content officer for Turner Broadcasting’s entertainment brands in Europe, Middle East and Africa and will be responsible for development and acquisition of kids series for Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Cartoonito.
However, it is thought that McCann will not permanently replace Arnesen, who left the broadcaster earlier this month. Arnesen, who was one of the most well known faces in the European kids TV business, left the broadcaster following MIPCOM after his departure was announced during the Cartoon Forum event in Norway.
McCann was most recently a director at content consultancy one eight six, however, she was previously SVP and general manager, Turner Entertainment, Europe, until 2006.
