Mark Burnett Asia boss leaves for MediaCorp

Man Shu Sum has left Mark Burnett Productions Asia (MBPA) to return to Singaporean media group MediaCorp.

Man became CEO of Burnett’s Asia arm in May 2008, leaving his previous position as director of strategic relations at Singaporean media regulator and funding body the Media Development Authority

He remained on the board of the Singaporean Film Commission when he took the reins at MBPA and will now head up MediaCorp’s film unit Raintree Pictures. He will take up the new position in December.

MBPA is a US$20 million joint venture between the US-based producer and Singaporean entertainment and gaming company Genting International. Burnett had some early success in the region with The Contender.
