Sky1 acquires CBS’s NCIS: LA
UK pay TV broadcaster Sky1 has acquired the rights to CBS Studios International’s NCIS: Los Angeles.
The network has picked up the series for its Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3 channels and will launch it later this month.
The series is a spin off of NCIS and follows two new agents played by LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell. The premiere recorded huge ratings in the States with over 18 million viewers watching the opening episode on CBS.
The deal was brokered by Sky1’s head of acquisitions and Stephen Tague, SVP, Europe, CBS Studios International.
The original NCIS series currently airs on pay channel FX as well as free-to-air network Five.
