BBC Worldwide inks five output deals
BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK public broadcaster, has agreed output deals with broadcasters in five countries: Germany; Italy; Kazakhstan; Finland and Norway.
Across the five, Worldwide has agreed deals for over 1,200 hours of its content. The channels in the individual territories are: Spiegel Geschichte (Germany), Channel 7 (Kazakhstan), Rai (Italy), YLE (Finland) and NRK (Norway).
The German and Kazakh deals are new whereas the other three are renewals of existing programming deals. The Kazakh agreement with Channel 7 marks the first time that Worldwide has agreed an output deal in Eastern Europe.
