Hasbro hires Steven Davis to run production studio
Toy manufacturer Hasbro has hired former Granada America boss Steven Davis as head of its new production studio.
He will be charge of the company’s TV output for its joint venture kids channel with Discovery that was announced earlier this year. Hasbro is set to produce TV series based on properties including GI Joe, My Little Pony, Trivial Pursuit and Transformers.
Davis, who is currently chief executive of Family Entertainment Group and will join the company in September, will work alongside Margaret Loesch, who will run the channel. The as-yet-unnamed network will launch towards the end of next year.
Davis, who also previously worked for Merv Griffin, was in charge of ITV’s US production company that oversaw production of series including Hell’s Kitchen and Nanny 911.
