Lionsgate renews output deal with NZ’s Prime

New Zealand commercial broadcaster Prime Television has renewed its long term output deal with US producer and distributor Lionsgate.

The move will give the network first run access to Lionsgate’s hit cable and drama series and feature films. 

Shows will include ’60s advertising period drama Mad Men, which airs on US cable network AMC, Showtime’s pot dealing family comedy Weeds and Starz’s TV remake of Oscar winning movie Crash. 

Prime will also have access to the company’s slate of reality series including horror format Scream Queens and Paris Hilton’s My BFF franchise, which has been produced in the US and UK and is set to be adapted in the Middle East.

Movies will include successful horror franchise Saw and 3D breakout hit My Bloody Valentine. 

Prime airs a mix of local series and Australian, US and UK series including FremantleMedia’s Merlin and IMG’s Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
