Endemol inks Seinfeld deal

International producer and distributor Endemol has struck a deal with comedian Jerry Seinfeld to distribute his forthcoming NBC comedy format The Marriage Ref.

The company will sell the series, which will launch next year on US network NBC, to broadcasters around the world. It also plans to produce local versions of the series. 

The 6x1hour series features a range of comedians, celebrities and sports personalities commenting on couples marriage disputes. The show will be produced by Seinfeld and his production partner Ellen Rakieten, who has produced The Oprah Winfrey Show for 23 years. 

It marks Seinfeld’s return to the NBC network, where he spent nine years in the ’90s with his eponymous hit comedy series.
