Sweden’s TV4 to make NBCU’s Momma’s Boys
Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 is to make a local version of NBC Universal’s dating format Momma’s Boys.
This marks the first time the series will be produced outside of the United States, where six episodes aired on NBC at the end of 2008.
TV4 is set to launch 10×1 hour of the format, which will be produced by independent producer Titan. The series, which sees mothers attempt to pick their sons a romantic date, was originally conceived and produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Glassman Media.
French producer and distributor Banijay and Nordic producer Nordisk have also acquired the options to produce local versions of the show in France and Denmark respectively.
