Marathon inks raft of Gormiti deals

French distributor Marathon International has closed a number of international deals for its 52x26mins animated kids series Gormiti – The Lords of Nature Return.

The company has sold the show, which is based on an Italian toy figure, to UK pay TV broadcaster Nicktoons, Germany’s RTL2, MBC (Middle East), Alter Channel (Greece), Digiturk (Turkey) and Noga (Israel).

It added that negotiations are also in the final stages for a free-to-air terrestrial deal in the UK, Spain and Latin America.

The show, which is produced by Marathon Media and Giochi Preziosi for M6, Canal J and Mediaset,  follows the everyday lives of four kids who enter a magical world of Gorm, where they turn into superpower creatures. The toys, which were created by Leandro Consumi, have sold over 100 million figurines in Europe.
