Worldwide launches Earth channel on YouTube
BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the British public broadcaster, is set to launch a BBC Earth channel on YouTube.
‘Earth’ is the BBC’s new international natural history brand. The YouTube channel will feature content from the raft of natural history series from its Natural History Unit including clips from Blue Planet, Life of Mammals, Turtle’s Guide to the Pacific and Cheetahs – Fast Track to Freedom.
BBC Earth is the company’s natural history brand outside of the UK and works across TV channels, digital platforms and merchandising and the YouTube launch represents its first international rollout.
Worldwide recently extended its content deal with the YouTube and plans to launch a raft of new channels on the site. As well as the recently launched Explore channel, which showcases BBC adventure series including Amazon with Bruce Parry and The Race for Everest and Extreme Dinosaurs, there is an upcoming comedy and a US-only entertainment channel, BBC America.
