Disney’s Mama Don’t Dance waltzes into Italy
Disney has licensed a local version of its Your Mama Don’t Dance format to Sky Italia. The reality format has just started airing on the News Corp-backed Italian pay TV operator’s flagship entertainment channel Sky Uno where the first episode doubled the channel’s average share.
The 11-episode Italian version, Vuoi Ballare con me? is produced by Wilder. The deal was made by Disney’s distribution arm DAET, which has already sold local versions of the show to Show TV in Turkey and RTP in Portugal.
The show asks wannabe dance stars to audition for a new competition. Unbeknownst to them they will need to compete alongside their parents to stand a chance of winning the contest.
