Cyber Group sells Manon to NHK

Cyber Group Studios, the recently rebranded French animation and web producer, has inked a raft of deals for its kids properties following MIP TV including the sale of animated preschool series Manon to Japanese public broadcaster NHK.

The company, which was formerly known as Cyber Groupe Animation, has also sold the 52x7mins series, which airs on Tiji in France, to RTP Portugal and TRT Turkey. This follows deals with TV2 Norway, Al Jazeera Children’s Channel and US network V-Me earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Guess What, the company’s 52x6mins preschool series that follows the adventures of two rabbits, has been sold TV2 Norway and Mediaway Poland, which has struck a volume deal for preschool programming, and has attracted interested from a number of Korean broadcasters and Disney Latin America.

Carole Brin, director of international TV sales, told TBIvision: “What is unique about Guess What is that it is a preschool series but the interactivity is very high.”

Cyber Group recently launched a documentary division and is currently distributing its first commission Kidnapping in Mexico, which was produced for news channel France 24.

The company is also working on a raft of new original digital productions following the success of the Vuguru-produced Prom Queen and Foreign Body. The two companies are working on three new series, which will be announced later this year.
