twofour54 to create distribution arm

Abu Dhabi-based media hub twofour54 will create a dedicated content sales arm later this year. The government backed initiative has just announced its first TV project, a kids series it will produce with UK indie 3Line Media and which will air on the BBC’s digital kids channel CBeebies in the UK. The show, Driver Dan’s Story Train, will be distributed internationally by twofour54.

Company COO Wayne Borg told TBIvision it will inaugurate an in-house distribution unit to handle international sales of this and other upcoming projects. It is currently putting a team together.

The show itself is a 52x11mins Arabic and English-language preschool animated series with live action elements. It features a cast of animal characters that delve into a different children’s story book in each episode. The stories will hail from Arab and western authors. It will debut on the BBC in spring 2010.

3 Line Media is the production company set up by ex-CiTV controller Estelle Hughes.
