Passion sells WoW series

Passion Distribution has inked a number of deals for its slate of World of Wonder-produced reality series ahead of Mip TV.

The distributor, which was set up last year by ID Distribution founder Sally Miles, has sold series including Ru Paul’s Drag Race and Heli-Loggers to a raft of international broadcasters.

Canada’s Much Music, Israel’s Yes TV, France’s Banijay, Germany’s Timm TV, and New Zealand’s Sky Vibe have all acquired 9x1hour Ru Paul’s Drag Race, the reality series commissioned by MTV-owned Logo to find the next ultimate drag queen.

France’s W9, Scandinavia’s Viasat Explorer, Finland’s Nelonen, Norway’s NRK, New Zealand’s Documentary Channel and Australia’s Foxtel-owned Fox8 have picked up action reality series Heli-Loggers, which was produced for Discovery-owned TLC and follows a team of helicopters that drag around logs.

Meanwhile, Passion will start shopping Man Shops Globe at Mip TV. The 8×30 series, originally commissioned by the Sundance Channel, follows Keith Johnson, a quirky antiques buyer for US store Anthropologie, as he travels the world looking for hidden gems.
