RTL cuts Warners output deal
Germany’s RTL has inked a multiyear output deal with Hollywood studio Warner Bros. The deal makes the German free-to-air broadcaster the home for all of the studio’s TV series and movies.
Specifically, RTL will get new TV series starting from the 2010-2011 US TV season and first-run feature films starting with those released theatrically in the US in 2010.
Movie product will include the final two parts of the Harry Potter franchise. The deal was struck between RTL and Warner’s distribution arm, Warner Bros International Television Distribution.
