Galleon strikes Soccer format deal in India, Middle East

Media Star Global is set to launch local versions of Super Soccer Star in India and the Middle East after striking a format deal with rights holder Galleon Entertainment.

Media Star Global, the production company run by Wasim Haq, will launch the versions later this year following the success of the show in China and Malaysia.

The kids series is an interactive football talent contest where the winner of the competition gets the chance to train with professional soccer stars at Chelsea Football Club.

Media Star Global paid a licence fee of US$200,000 for the Indian rights and US$175,000 for the Middle Eastern rights, which covers the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Omar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
