Sky buys Fox’s Lies
UK pay TV channel Sky1 has acquired Fox’s midseason US drama Lie to Me. The deal gives Sky exclusive rights across pay and free TV as well as non-exclusive VOD and download-to-own rights.
The series, which stars Brit actor Tim Roth as Dr. Paul Ekman, a psychiatry professor who uses his ability to read body language to help solve crimes, is sold by 20th Century Fox Distribution Television Distribution.
The series was created by Samuel Baum, the exec producer of 24 and Arrested Development. It is produced by Imagine Television and Fox.
The series will be transmitted in standard and high definition on Sky1, starting this spring.
