E1 the new name in indie TV
Entertainment conglomerate Entertainment One has regrouped all of its companies under the E1 Entertainment banner.
The Canada-based, UK-listed, company owns several TV producers, distribution outfits as well as movie and music entities. The production activities, comprising Blueprint Entertainment, Barna-Alper, Oasis, Rubber Duck and Contender, will be grouped under a new E1 Television banner.
Program sales companies Entertainment One Canada, Koch and Videoglobe will be part of the E1 Distribution imprint.
Originally a feature film distributor, Entertainment One-as-was, has been aggressively acquiring TV interests.
It bought Blueprint Entertainment, Barna-Alper and distributor Oasis International last July for C$51.5 million (US$40.1 million). The deal allowed the company to expand its TV library to 2,700 hours.
