France Televisions inks Lat Am deal
France Televisions Distribution, the sales arm of the French public broadcaster, has inked a distribution deal with Hola Entertainment in Latin America as it looks to expand its business outside of Europe.
Hola Entertainment, which is run by former BRB Internacional executive Mercedes Alvarez, will distribute France Televisions’ range of drama series, documentaries and TV movies across the region to broadcasters from Argentina to Brazil to Peru.
This will include series such as Summer Dreams and Clara Sheller, documentaries including The Whizz Report and Changing Climate Changing Times and a range of movies including Cyrano de Bergerac, The Horseman on the Roof and the Chez Maupassant collection.
However, Hola will not sell France Televisions Distribution’s animated series such as Missy Mila Twisted Tales and The Podcats, with the French company preferring to continue to handle their own sales of their successful kids cartoons.
Hola has similar deals with producers and distributors such as Sesame Workshop, Moonscoop Entertainment and Breakthrough Entertainment.
